The widow of a young dad who was killed in a crash has issued a statement after a trial against two brothers accused of causing his death dramatically collapsed.
Father-of-two Rhys Jenkins, 41, died in a crash on the A483 in Wales in November last year. His nine-year-old son, Ioan, was in the car with him and suffered a serious head injury in the collision.
Abubakr Ben Yusaf, 29, and his brother Umar Ben Yusaf, 34, of Esmond Road in Manchester, both denied causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Abubakr Ben Yusaf also denied causing death while uninsured.

The court previously heard how Mr Jenkins, 41, died after his Toyota Yaris was struck when a BMW, driven by Abubakr Ben Yusaf, entered his lane.
The prosecution claimed the brothers had been "racing" home to Manchester from Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, in separate cars when the crash occurred.

On the eighth day of the trial at Mold Crown Court on Wednesday (September 17), judge His Honour Simon Mills discharged the jury for legal reasons.

In a statement, from the solicitor representing Ben's widow Carrie Jenkins, has since issued a statement on the incident following the 'devastating' loss of the young dad.
Joanne Brine, partner, Catastrophic Injury team, JMW, said: "Understandably, Mrs Jenkins' focus is to continue to support her children through this difficult time as they come to terms with the devastating loss of their much loved father.
"She would also like to take this opportunity to thank her family and friends for their continuing support and presence."
A new trial has been set for June 1, 2026, reports North Wales Live.[3]
