Woman, 50s, died in M40 crash tragedy as police make appeal

A woman killed in a collision on the M40 was aged in her 50s. The news comes from Warwickshire[1] Police as it has launched a witness appeal into the incident. Officers and West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) responded to 999 calls reporting a collision between a pedestrian and a HGV on the M40 northbound yesterday afternoon (September 3).

WMAS told CoventryLive that medics were unable to save a woman.[2] Now police have confirmed that she was aged in her 50s.

"Her next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers," the force said. Road closures were in place while emergency services were at the scene, at around 4.35pm.

Investigations into the collision are underway and the force says they need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time. "If anyone witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage and has not yet spoken to police, please call 101 quoting incident 304 of 3 September," the force said.
