Woman caught driving at 85mph on M4 motorway is fined

Amy Scragg, 33, of Anderson Crescent, Arborfield, was caught driving at 85mph on the M4 westbound between junctions 8/9 and 10, exceeding the 70mph speed limit. The offence took place on October 31 last year. Scragg was caught by an automatic camera device in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

She pleaded guilty to the offence on July 23. As a result, she was fined GBP230 and ordered to pay a GBP92 surcharge to fund victim services. Her driving record was also endorsed with three penalty points.

No order for costs was made due to her means. The court took into account Scragg's guilty plea when imposing the sentence. A collection order was made for the fine and surcharge, with the total amount of GBP322 to be paid by August 20.

A notification of the endorsement was sent to the DVLA.
