A429 Moreton: standstill traffic after High Street incident

Emergency services, including Gloucestershire Police and South West Ambulance Service, were called to the town at around 1.10pm on Friday (October 10). A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: "We were called to a report of a serious collision on High Street, Moreton-in-Marsh. "The collision involved a pedestrian and a lorry.

"One person was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with serious injuries." A spokesperson for South West Ambulance Service said: "We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene. "We took one patient by land ambulance to John Radcliffe Hospital."

The crash resulted in long delays across Moreton, with traffic building along the A44 and the A429 for around two hours after the incident.
