Bishopton Road West, Stockton closed following crash
Emergency services were quickly on the scene after the crash involving a Cleveland Police van and a Volkswagen vehicle, on Bishopton Road West in Fairfield, in mid-afternoon. Drivers of other vehicles were urged to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with by emergency services. Shortly afterwards, a Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Bishopton Road West is currently closed in both directions following a collision between a police car and a white Volkswagen Polo.
"Drivers are advised to avoid the area whilst emergency services deal with the accident." A further statement said: "It is believed that nobody involved sustained serious injuries. "One woman in the VW suffered a laceration to her shoulder and is being treated at The University Hospital of North Tees."

The police van appeared to have collided with a wall near the entrance to Castle Close.
