Ford C-Max seized in Coventry as police make discovery about driver
Police seized a car in Coventry before making a discovery about its driver. Officers from Warwickshire[1] Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) stopped the Ford C-Max on Siskin Drive for being driven without valid insurance. But officers made more discoveries when they carried out checks on the driver, who has not been identified. "Further checks revealed that the driver was driving on an international licence despite having lived in the UK for 3 years," the team said.
"International driving licences are only valid for use in the UK for 12 months, after which drivers must get a UK licence." The team seized the vehicle and the driver was reported for the offences.
The Ford C-Max in Coventry[4] was not the only car seized by the team. They also seized another Ford C Max in Warwick[5].
They had stopped the car on Wedgnock Lane. Checks revealed that the driver had no valid insurance cover in place. Last week, they also stopped a Mercedes near Stratford Upon Avon.
The driver was due to sell the vehicle nearby.
"Unfortunately for him checks confirmed he is disqualified from driving and has no insurance," the team said. "The vehicle has been recovered and a court date will be arranged."
