M25 Waltham Cross and Enfield lorry crash: Two in hospital

The incident happened between J25 Enfield and J26 Waltham Abbey at around 8.30am today (October 29). Two lorries had crashed on the clockwise carriageway, according to INRIX traffic. Two people were treated at the scene.

One was taken to hospital by road "as a priority" while a second was flown to hospital by the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Their condition is not known at this stage. LIVE updates as M25 carriageway CLOSED after lorry crash leaves two in hospital[1]

The M25 was closed clockwise between J25 and J26 and has since partially reopened. Lanes 1, 2 and 3 past the scene and the entry slip road at J25 remain closed for recovery. There are over two-hour delays on the approach and 10 miles of traffic leading back past J24.

Road users are advised by National Highways to plan their journeys in advance, allow extra time and consider using alternative routes if possible. We have contacted the Metropolitan Police for more information A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.33am today (29 October) to reports of a road traffic collision on the M25, Waltham Cross.

"We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.

"We treated two people and took one patient to hospital as a priority.

The other patient was taken to hospital by East Anglian Air Ambulance."
