Medway father named as motorcyclist killed in fatal A20 crash in Harrietsham
A "loving father" has been named as the victim of a fatal crash involving a motorbike and van. At around 7.45am on Thursday, October 9, emergency services were called to reports of a serious crash on the A20 Ashford Road in Harrietsham.
Paramedics and police attended the scene, between the junctions of Hook Lane and Fairbourne Lane, but Darren Hollies died from his injuries after a collision between a Mercedes Sprinter and a black Suzuki. Now, the Medway man's family has paid tribute to the 53-year-old.
In a statement shared to KentOnline, they said: "Darren was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. "His absence has left a profound emptiness in the lives of those who knew and loved him. "The family is heartbroken by his loss and will miss him more than words can ever say."
Since the tragedy, Kent Police has appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
A spokesman said: "Inquiries are being led by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
"Motorists who were in the area are urged to check for any relevant dashcam footage which may show the vehicles. The van driver stopped at the scene." Emergency services were at the scene and traffic was being diverted by police.
