Motorist caught by automatic camera at 51mph on motorway is fined

A Didcot motorist who was caught by an automatic camera at 51mph on the M4 has been fined more than GBP100. Paul Oakley was travelling between junctions six and seven close to Slough when she was clocked at 51mph. The 58-year-old, of Kynaston Road, Didcot, was on the eastbound carriageway in a vehicle at the time of the incident on January 8.

READ MORE: M4 speed camera: woman fined GBP300 for driving at 59mph[1] Oakley's case was heard at Oxford Magistrates' Court on October 2. The court heard how there had been a 40mph speed restriction in place at the time.

He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of GBP28 and a fine of GBP72. This must be paid in full by October 30. There were no orders for costs.

He also received three penalty points.
