Multi-vehicle crash sparks long delays on M20 between Junction 8 for Maidstone and Junction 9 for Ashford
There are long delays on the M20 after a lorry crashed into a bridge support and the central reservation. Traffic is building in both directions between Junction 8 for Maidstone and Junction 9 for Ashford after a multi-vehicle collision.
National Highways has warned motorists to expect delays following the crash, which involves four vehicles. A spokesman said: "A lorry with a trailer has hit a bridge support and central reservation, creating debris.
"It was a multi-vehicle collision but no injuries were reported. "The clean-up operation is due to take some time. "There is just one lane running currently on both carriageways."
A fire service spokesman says crews were called to a crash involving four vehicles.
"On arrival, no firefighting operations were required," they said.
"Crews assisted Kent Police in making the scene safe."
