Police have launched an appeal for information after a woman was seriously injured in a crash along the A47[1]. Emergency services were called to a crash[2] on the A47 between Thorney and Thorney Toll, near Peterborough[3], just before 11am on Tuesday (October 28). The crash involved a white Volkswagen LT Flatbed van and an orange motorbike.
The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old woman from Helpston, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital[4] with serious injuries. Cambridgeshire[5] Police arrested a 50-year-old man from Peterborough on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol, driving with excess drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving. The man has since been bailed until January 22, 2026.
Officers are now appealing for information. Sergeant Jake Howard said: "There was lots of traffic in the area at the time so I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it to get in touch with us." Anyone with information or dashcam footage should call police on 101 or report it online and quote incident 147 of October 28.
