Police name dog walker struck by car on A64

A man who died after being hit by a car on the A64 near Scarborough while out walking his dog has been named by police.

Martin Ball, 67, was struck by a black Peugeot 208 between the Staxton and Seamer roundabouts, near to the Merry Lees Caravan Park, at about 06:40 BST on Monday.

North Yorkshire Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or had any information to contact the force.

Paying tribute to Mr Ball, his family described him as a "much loved husband, step dad, grandad, brother and uncle".
