Three killed and another person in hospital after horror crash

Three people have died and another man rushed to hospital[1] following a horror crash. Emergency crews raced to the A4103 in Bransford, Worcestershire on Thursday afternoon following reports of a crash between a lorry and a car. Two women and a man who were in the car died at the scene.

The HGV driver was taken to hospital for minor injuries. The collision led to a large 999 response. West Midlands Ambulance Service said two ambulances, three paramedic officers attended the incident.

Two air ambulances were also sent to the scene. A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Crews arrived to find four patients in total, three from the car and one from the HGV. The three patients from the car, two women and a man, were found to be in a critical condition.

"With support from emergency service colleagues, ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed dead at the scene.

"A man, from the HGV, was assessed and treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by land ambulance as a precaution."

Two ambulances, three paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, three BASICS doctors and the Midlands Air Ambulances from Cosford and Strensham were sent to the scene.
