Where speed camera vans clocked 4,300 motorists in just one month
Roadside operations by the Norfolk and Suffolk Safety Camera Partnership covered main routes including the A11 and A47 as well as smaller routes in numerous towns and villages across the county. As with the eight previous months, the biggest speeding hotspot was Thetford where 436 motorists were detected to be travelling over the limit. In total 2,309 separate fines have been issued to drivers at just this one location since March.

On the A11 mobile vans caught the most travelling on the A11 at Snetterton where 153 were detected. Cameras in Roundham and Larling captured 136. Away from the county's two busiest A roads other locations where a large number of speeding offences were seen were Tilney St Lawrence with 218, Guist with 142 and Great Yarmouth with 139, while a further 124 speeders were snapped in Coltishall.
Motorists caught are sent a notice of intended prosecution but for more serious speeding offences like where drivers are caught at particularly high speeds, the police may choose to take cases straight to court. Others are fined or offered speed awareness courses.
