Woman and child injured on A449 after crash near Claines
Emergency services were on the scene of a car and van crash on the A449 junction with Hawford Lock Lane. A woman was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital while a child was discharged from the scene after health checks. A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a van on Hawford Lock Lane at 3.43pm on Friday.

"A woman was assessed and treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital. "A child was assessed and discharged at the scene." A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson was also on the scene to make both vehicles safe.
The spokesperson said: "A crew from Worcester Fire Station was called at 3.42pm on October 4 to make vehicles safe after a road traffic collision on Hawford Lock Lane, Claines. "The incident involved two vehicles - one car and one van. "No persons were trapped and vehicles were made safe by crews.
"The A449 was closed between Claines and Ombersley. Two casualties were handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police. "Highways were requested for oil on the roadway.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 4.27pm."
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police added: "Officers attended a two-vehicle collision on the A449 at Claines around 3.40pm on Saturday (October 4).
"There were no serious injuries reported, and no arrests were made."
