BMW driver in hospital with serious injuries after crash with lorry

Emergency services were called to the A59 near Burscough[1] shortly after 9am on Tuesday (November 1).
It followed reports of a collision between a BMW 3 series and a Volvo lorry.
Lancashire Police said the BMW was travelling north on the A59 High Lane towards the roundabout with Liverpool Road South and the Volvo was driving south in the direction of County Road when the collision happened.
The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.
The lorry driver was not injured.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or mobile footage from the area to come forward.
Sgt Anthony Beckett, of our Road Policing Unit, said: "This collision left a man with some significant injuries, and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened and who has not yet spoken to police, or anyone with any dashcam or mobile footage, to get in touch."
