Driver killed in Langholm crash named by police

A man killed in a crash between a lorry and a pick-up truck near Langholm in Dumfries and Galloway has been named by police.

Pick-up driver Sam Cropper, 36, died at the scene of the incident on the A7 at about 11:35 on Tuesday.

Police Scotland said his passenger in the Toyota Hilux truck, a 55-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Sgt Colin Ramage said: "Our thoughts remain with Sam's family and friends at this difficult time, as well as the man who suffered serious injuries."
