Edinburgh collision triggers delays as emergency services sent to A720

A collision on the Edinburgh bypass triggered delays for drivers on Monday evening. The A720 [1]was restricted at Hermiston Gait[2] as emergency services attended.

Images from the scene show a blue Nissan Qashqai smashed into the back of a white van. The collision happened at around 6.52pm.

A local resident said traffic was 'backing onto the M8' following the incident.

Traffic Scotland said: "Accident - November 24, 6.52pm.

"Location - A720 (E) Hermiston Gait.

The A720 is currently restricted eastbound at Hermiston Gait due to a road traffic incident."

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
