Inquest into Leominster bin lorry crash victim Andzie Stanik

The inquest into the death of Andzie Richard Stanik was opened by the Herefordshire coroner at Hereford Town Hall on November 19. The 62-year-old was killed when a bin lorry crashed into a former pub on the A44 Mill Street and Bridge Street roundabout on November 11. A major emergency response followed the crash, which happened shortly before 7am that morning, with three people in the cab of the bin lorry.

The crash caused major structural damage to the former Golden Lion pub, with a large part of the Grade II-listed 18th century building demolished in the wake of the tragedy for safety reasons.

Local Safer Neighbourhood Inspector James Ashton for Herefordshire says: "We continue to express our condolences to Stan's loved ones at this terribly difficult time." Speaking in the days after the crash, West Mercia PC Paul Bosley from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said the force's thoughts are with Mr Stanik's family and friends, as well as all affected by the crash. "We ask anyone who saw the bin lorry travelling along Mill Street before the collision, or witnessed the collision itself, to please get in touch with us," he added in the November 13 appeal.

"Relevant dashcam or CCTV footage could also help us in our investigation."
