M40 blocked after lorry overturns in crash on motorway near Hockley Heath

View ImageParamedics were called to the scene(Image: WMAS)A lorry overturned in a crash with another HGV and car on the M40 prompting severe rush hour delays this morning, Monday, November 3.
The incident happened on the southbound carriageway between junction 16 for Hockley Heath to junction 15 for Warwick just after 8am.
Two of three lanes were initially closed.
All lanes were later blocked between the junctions with diversions in place.
One person was treated for serious injuries at the scene.
Taking to X, National Highways: West Midlands posted: "2 lanes (of 3 ) are closed on the M40 southbound between J16 and J15.
"This is due to an overturned lorry. National Highways traffic officers are on scene assisting emergency services with traffic management. Expect delays."
It later added: "The M40 is in the process of being closed J16 to J15.
This is due to the earlier serious collision."
It confirmed: "The M40 is closed southbound between J16 at Hockley Heath and J15 near Warwick due to a serious collision involving three vehicles, one of which has overturned.
"All emergency services are in attendance.
Article continues below"Further Traffic Officer resources are en-route to assist with moving traffic caught within the closure.
"There's approximately a 10 minute delay and 1 mile of congestion approaching the closure."
Traffic data monitor posted: "M40 Southbound blocked, queueing traffic due to overturned vehicle from J16 A3400 Stratford Road (Henley In Arden) to J15 A46 Warwick bypass (Warwick / Longbridge Island)."
