M40: Serious lorry crash puts several people in hospital

The crash happened on Tuesday night (November 4) on the M40 between junctions 12 and 13 just over the Oxfordshire border in Warwickshire. Emergency services were called at around 7.45pm to a report the driver of a vehicle transporter had collided with the central reservation. A number of other vehicles were subsequently involved in the collision.
Several people were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. Significant road closures were in place while emergency services were in attendance. A police spokesman said: "If anyone witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage, please call 101 quoting incident number 380 of November 4, 2025."
The road was closed all night and into Wednesday morning (November 5). The spokesman said on Wednesday morning: "Due to extensive repairs required, the closure is likely to be in place throughout the morning. "All traffic[2] caught within the closure has now been released.
"Local diversions are in place.
If this closure impacts your planned route, please allow extra journey time."
Police also had to close part of the diversion route on the A422 Sun Rising Hill beyond Banbury, between Sugarswell Lane and Tysoe Road, due to a shed load from a lorry.
