M6 police ‘discover £1.1m worth of cocaine’ after stopping van at service station

A man has been charged after police discovered more than GBP1million worth of cocaine on the M6.

Staffordshire [1] Police [2] said it came after officers stopped a van at Keele Services - located between Junctions 15 and 16 in Staffordshire [3] - on Monday, November 17.

As a result, the force has charged a man who is due to appear at court next month.

A force [6] spokesperson said Andrew Moore, aged 35, from Stockport, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (cocaine).

He's due to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday, December 22, after appearing at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Tuesday (November 18).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A man has been charged after cocaine with an estimated street value of GBP1.1million was found on the M6 in Staffordshire [7].

"Andrew Moore, 35, from Stockport, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (cocaine).

"It comes after officers from our road crime team stopped a van at Keele Services on the motorway just before 1pm on Monday (17 November).

"Moore appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Tuesday (18 November), where he was remanded in custody to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday 22 December."
