M60 crash: Long traffic delays after two incidents

There were long delays on a stretch of the M60 this afternoon (Friday) after a crash and a separate van fire. There was an accident on the anticlockwise stretch between junction 11, for Barton, and junction for the Trafford Centre, just before midday. One lane was closed which was causing 'long delays', the traffic service Inrix said.

On the same side of the motorway, firefighters were also dealing with a van fire. Pictures showed smoke billowing above the motorway between junction 9 for Trafford Park, and junction 7, Carrington. One lane was closed whilst crews put it out.

That has now reopened but delays remain in the area as well.

All traffic had cleared by 1pm.
