Man, 70, dies after crash closed A14 on Cambs border for over 12 hours

A man has died after a crash[1] closed part of the A14[2] for over half a day. The crash took place at around 4.20pm[3] on Sunday (November 16) along the A14 at Stowmarket[4]. It involved two vehicles, a black Jaguar XJ Sport and a MAN truck which was parked in a layby.

Emergency services, including police, fire and rescue and ambulance crews were called to the scene. A 70-year-old man died at the scene. A female passenger in the Jaguar was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with a potential life-threatening leg injury.

Suffolk[5] Police reopened the road at around 5.25am today (Monday, November 17). Officers are appealing for information into the crash. A police spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for any potential witnesses and asking any motorists driving in the area on Sunday afternoon with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance."
