Man killed and woman seriously injured in crash

A man has been killed in a crash on the Cambridgeshire[1] border. Emergency services were called to a crash on the A43 Stamford Road at Deenethorpe, near Oundle[2], on Monday (November 10). The crash involved a green Omoda E5 car and white Mercedes flatbed lorry.

A man in his 40s, who was driving the Omoda, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Omoda, a woman in her 30s, suffered suspected serious injuries. She was taken to University Hospital Coventry.

A police spokesperson said: "At about 6.40am on Monday, November 10, a collision occurred between the drivers of a green Omoda E5 car and a white Mercedes flatbed lorry travelling in the opposite direction. "As a result of this collision, the driver of the Omoda - a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. "His front seat passenger - a woman in her 30s - was taken to University Hospital Coventry with suspected serious injuries."
