Pedestrian dies in Powys collision involving pick-up truck

Emergency services scrambled to the A44 and B4362 junction at Walton, near Presteigne to the following reports of a collision on Tuesday evening (November 4). The crash, which happened at around 5pm, involved a male pedestrian and a white coloured Toyota Hilux pick-up truck. CPR was administered to the pedestrian but, sadly, they died at the scene.

Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed that the pedestrian's next of kin are being supported by officers. The road was closed between Walton and Presteigne and reopened at about 1am on Wednesday (November 5) following accident investigation work by officers and the recovery of the vehicle. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Presteigne were called to the incident shortly after 5pm on Tuesday.

"The crew responded to a road traffic collision involving one private motor vehicle and one pedestrian," a spokesperson for the emergency service said. "CPR was administered to the pedestrian, but, sadly, they died at the scene. "The crew left the scene at 6.13pm."

Dyfed-Powys Police has since made a public appeal for information about the collision.
