Serious lorry crash shuts major road near Cambridgeshire for hours as police investigate
A major road near Cambridgeshire has been shut for hours following a serious crash.
The A14[1] in Suffolk[2] has been closed since Sunday, November 16 afternoon when a car and a lorry collided. The highway is shut[3] westbound between J50 Stowmarket and J49 Tot Hill.
The 'serious collision' involving a car and a lorry occurred at approximately 4.40pm in the afternoon and is likely to remain shut throughout the night. Advertisement

The eastbound carriageway has now been reopened and a diversion is in place.
Diversion Route Details:
Westbound:
Exit the A14 westbound at J50 and join the A1120 southbound
At the junction with the A1308, turn right and join the A1308
Continue through Stowmarket on the A1308 towards Tot Hill
Re-join the A14 westbound at J49 and continue onward journey
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Suffolk Police are in attendance and leading the response with collision investigation work ongoing at this time.
