Teen driver arrested after pensioner killed in tragic Evesham crash

Police have launched an urgent appeal for information after a man was tragically killed in a crash on a leafy Evesham road.

Sadly, the driver of a beige Dacia Duster, a man aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday afternoon, November 29.

The collision, which involved a blue Toyota Yaris, happened shortly before 4pm on the A44 in Wickhamford near to Longdon Hill.

A man, aged 18, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.

Two other people were treated at the scene for injuries, and were left in the care of the ambulance service.

Officers from West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses - and specifically the occupants of a white van who stopped to help.

The force said: "Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and may have dashcam footage that captures the vehicles travelling along the A44 before the incident.

"We are also keen to speak to the occupants of a white van, who stopped at the scene to help, as they believe they have information that can help with enquiries.
