Dorset Police said the collision happened at around 5pm on Friday, November 28, on the Holes Bay North Roundabout, where the A350 meets the A3059 at the start of the Upton Bypass, by Safety Drive.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The boy was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. "Despite the best efforts of emergency service colleagues, the 17-year-old motorcycle rider very sadly died," said a spokesperson for Dorset Police. "Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
"We continue to carry out enquiries in relation to this incident and following the review of dashcam footage, we have identified four vehicles who were in the area at the time and we believe their drivers may have witnessed the collision and we're appealing for them to come forward," he added.

"All four vehicles have entered the Upton Bypass heading in a westerly direction," said Sgt David Cotterill, from the Roads Police team. "These were a black BMW 1 series that was directly in front of the collision as it occurred on the roundabout, a white Vauxhall Astra in the second lane of the roundabout that exited onto the Upton Bypass as the motorcyclist was struck, a black Suzuki Swift that takes the exit as the collision occurred and a white Ford Transit Van that takes the exit onto the Upton Bypass as the HGV comes to a stop," he added.
