Teenager dies following A9 Cromarty Bridge collision

POLICE are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A9 Cromarty Bridge last night. The incident happened around 9.40pm on Monday, November 10 south of the Cromarty Bridge, and involved a white Ford Transit van and a black Ford Focus. Emergency services attended and an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.
An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were also taken to hospital[1] with serious injuries. The road was closed to allow for investigations to take place and re-opened at 6.30am on Tuesday, November 11. A 50-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and released pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Kate Finlayson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time.
"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicles prior to get in touch with officers. "I'd also ask that anyone with dash-cam footage who were driving in the area at the time review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation." A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 21.46 on 10 November to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the Cromarty Bridge.
"Two ambulances, a doctor and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Two patients were transported to Raigmore Hospital, one to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and two were treated and discharged at the scene."
