According to the BBC, Barnard-Wigley, 27, previously had charges causing death and injury by dangerous driving -- more serious charges -- dropped during a 2023 court hearing following a previous trial.
In that case, Barnard-Wigley had hydroplaned after rainfall made the road wet, according to evidence previously revealed in court, per the BBC.
In the 2021 incident, HullLive reported, citing trial evidence, that Barnard-Wigley had been accused of being in a hurry to get to a beauty salon to sell makeup to the owner.
