Woman taken to hospital after two-car crash shuts A472

Gwent Police said they were called to the westbound carriageway at around 5.30pm on November 25 after reports of a crash involving a Peugeot and a white van near Pontypool. Officers attended alongside the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service. The passenger of the Peugeot, a woman, was taken to hospital.

The nature of her injuries has not yet been confirmed. The road was shut while emergency services worked at the scene, with the A472 closed in both directions between Pontypool and Hafodyrynys. It has since fully reopened.

Police say enquiries are ongoing and are urging anyone with relevant information including CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
