A491 Stourbridge Road, Clent: Police statement on fatal crash

A man in his 60s was killed after being hit by a lorry on the A491 Stourbridge Road at its junction with Field Lane at around 12.15pm on Friday December 12. Paramedics and an off-duty paramedic fought to save the man, but he was declared dead at the scene. Police said the lorry driver remained at the scene and that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The lorry driver remained at the scene and was spoken to by officers. "No arrests have been made in relation to the collision. "The pedestrian was a man in his 60s."
West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to the junction of the A491 and Field Lane in Clent, Stourbridge, at 12.15pm and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Trust's Critical Care Car to the scene. "An off-duty paramedic also stopped at the scene to offer assistance. "On arrival crews discovered two patients.
"One of them, a man, who was the pedestrian, was found to be in a critical condition.
"Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
"A second man, the lorry driver, was assessed and discharged at the scene."
