Ipsden: Woman dies after three cars crash at junction

Three cars were involved in the crash on the A4074 at the junction with The Street for Ipsden near Wallingford. A blue Vauxhall Corsa was waiting to turn right at the junction onto The Street when it was struck from behind by a silver Vauxhall Corsa. The blue Corsa was on the main 60mph single carriageway on the A4074 heading towards Wallingford from Reading.
It indicated and stopped to turn right into The Street, but as this has happened the silver Corsa drove into the back of the blue Corsa. The blue Corsa was shunted forward which has then crashed with an oncoming grey Volkswagen Tiguan in the opposite direction. The driver of the silver Corsa, an 82-year-old woman, was taken to hospital, but later died at home on December 13, days after the crash happed at around 11.30am on December 2.
The woman's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. No arrests have been made in connection with the collision. Police constable Ben Rowlands, from the traffic[2] policing team, said: "First and foremost, my thoughts are with the family of the woman who has sadly died following this road traffic collision.
"We are supporting the woman's family at this extremely upsetting time. "I am appealing for anybody who was in the area at around the time of this collision to please contact us if you witnessed anything that could assist this investigation. "I would also ask anybody who was driving on this section of the A4074 to check their dash-cams and get in touch if it has captured anything that may assist this investigation."
Witnesses can report online or by calling 101, quoting the incident reference number 43250613202. This newspaper has launched a Book of Condolence to leave tributes for the woman following the incident which can be found on our website. It comes after the death of Matthew Pring, 23, who was killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident in Bladon on Saturday morning.
The family issued a tribute to Mr Pring on Tuesday morning saying he was a "loving, caring, bright and courageous person" who could "quickly light up a room".
