Live A487 updates on Porthmadog fatal crash with bypass closed until Tuesday

The A487 Porthmadog bypass is still closed this afternoon following a fatal crash. The road is expected to remain shut in both directions for some time. The collision was reported around 9pm on Saturday night, December 20.
North Wales Police (NWP) is advising road users to avoid the area and use the signed diversion route. Chief Insp Trystan Bevan of the NWP Roads Policing Unit thanked drivers for their patience. He said: "This is sadly being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision.
I offer my deepest condolences to the families at this difficult time. "I am appealing to anyone who was travelling on the A487 between 21.00-21.40 on 20/12/25 who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage, to get in touch with police."
