Man, 26, dies after hit by HGV on road on Wales border road

A man has died after he was hit by a HGV on a road on the Welsh border.

The incident was on the A540 Parkgate Road that runs between the M56 and Chester.

It happened near the village of Mollington.

Cheshire Police said: "Officers are appealing for information and footage following a fatal collision in Chester. Advertisement Advertisement

"At around 10.50am today, Friday 5 December, police were called to reports of a collision on the A540 Parkgate Road in Mollington, Chester.

"The incident involved a HGV and a pedestrian. Sadly, the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Amy Hollis said: "We have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and as such, we are now appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to get in touch with us.
