Man, 47, confirmed as tragic M6 crash victim as police make new appeal

New details have emerged from a tragic collision on the M6 near Coventry. A man, who has not been identified, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene on the M6 northbound between Rugby and Coventry on Monday, December 8.[1][2] Now, officers have confirmed that he was 47 years old and was driving a red HGV. "The driver of a red HGV stopped on the hard shoulder, and a short time later, the driver of a white Scania HGV with a blue curtain-sided trailer is believed to have driven into the red HGV," Warwickshire[3] Police force said in a statement.
Investigations into the collision have been ongoing for the past week, and the force has now issued a new appeal. Officers want to hear from any motorists who were travelling between junctions 1 and 2 on the northbound carriageway at around 6.30pm.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been on the M6[6] or on the road network near the M6 that may have seen the white Scania HGV prior to the collision," the force appeal states.
"If anyone witnessed the collision, saw the white HGV leading up to the collision, has any dashcam footage or other information that could help with our enquiries, please call 101 or visit www.warwickshire.police.uk/ro/report[7] quoting incident number 299 of 8 December.
