Man in 50s pronounced dead after crash in A228 Boyle Way near East Peckham, Tonbridge

A man in his 50s has died after being hit by a van on a busy A-road. The police, fire service and critical care paramedics were called to the A228 Boyle Way, East Peckham at 5pm yesterday (December 16).

Now, the police investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses and those with dash cam footage to come forward. The force said it was called to reports of a crash between a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian.

Despite rescue efforts, a spokesperson from the ambulance service said: "Sadly, a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene." His next of kin has been informed. The force said: "The driver of the van was located at the scene and is assisting officers with inquiries."

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out an investigation and urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the van before the collision, to contact them.
