Police appeal for witnesses after HGV driver allegedly fails to stop at A1 collision

Police are investigating a report of a collision between an HGV and a car that happened on the A1 northbound near Colsterworth; the HGV failed to stop at the scene. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire police said: 'It's been reported that shortly before 6pm on Friday 19 December, the driver of a white Ford Focus was travelling northbound in lane 1 when the driver of an HGV, described as being light pink, and travelling in the same direction, crossed over from lane 2 into lane 1.

'There was a collision between the two vehicles, the Ford Focus came to rest in an adjacent layby. The driver of the HGV continued on with their journey and didn't stop. 'Fortunately, no-one was seriously injured.

'As part of our inquiries we are appealing for anyone who may have been travelling on the A1 at the time and witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the vehicles, including information that will help us to identify the HGV involved, to get in touch.
