Police CCTV of car that may have witnessed Calcot crash

The driver of the vehicle, thought to be a silver or grey hatchback, is not suspected of being involved in the incident but is believed to have witnessed it. At just before 6:30am, Stephen Allen, 64, was struck by at least one vehicle while crossing the A4 Bath Road near the Lidl supermarket. Two men from Reading have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
A 27-year-old was detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop, before being released on conditional bail. A 41-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been released under investigation. Sergeant Matt Cadmore, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: "We are continuing our investigation into this tragic incident in which Stephen Allen lost his life.
"His family continue to be supported by specially trained family liaison officers, and my thoughts remain with them all. "I am today releasing this image of a vehicle of interest, and would appeal to the driver of this car to please come forward. Despite CCTV and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) work, the police have not been able to locate the vehicle.
"I'd like to stress, I believe this driver to be a witness, and I would urge them to contact Thames Valley Police as soon as possible," Sergeant Cadmore added.
Police believe the car travelled from Burghfield Road and turned left towards Calcot at 6:27am that morning.
