Sweeper truck hits woman in 80s near Moor Park

The DAF vehicle had been cleaning the side of the road in Main Avenue, Moor Park, when it hit the woman at around 8.20am on Tuesday, December 2. She was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition, police said today (December 11) while appealing for witnesses. The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.
Prior to the crash, the sweeper truck had been travelling towards Pembroke Road. Detective Sergeant Shona Birkby said: "If you witnessed the collision or saw the sweeper travelling in the area prior to it, please report it to us."
