Two men die in crash between recovery truck and car

Two men were killed in a crash between a recovery truck and a car on Saturday night.

Driver of the Isuzu recovery vehicle, Mathew Hardy, 34, of Pwllheli, and VW Golf driver Daniel Atkinson, 40, from Blaenau Ffestiniog, both died in the collision on the A487 Porthmadog bypass in Gwynedd at about 21:30 GMT.

North Wales Police said their families were being supported by officers and the road reopened on Monday evening.

Officers are appealing for information and the matter has been referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct.
