Update after woman arrest in fatal crash on A44 in Chadbury

The woman had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a fatal crash in Chadbury yesterday (December 22) morning. A pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was struck by a van and pronounced dead at the scene. On Monday, a West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Officers responded to a collision this morning (Monday 22 December) around 7.40am on the A44 at Chadbury in Worcestershire.
"Sadly, a pedestrian - a woman in her 70s - was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. "A 54-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. "Enquiries are now on-going into the collision.
"Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the woman who passed away."
