A14 closed in both directions near Trimley as HGV overturns

Suffolk police were called to the incident near Trimley late on Tuesday evening. National Highways has confirmed that the road remains closed in both directions while crash investigation works are carried out. It is currently unclear if anyone has been injured as a result of the crash.
A spokesman for National Highways said the lorry overturned[1] and came to rest on the opposite carriageway. They added: "Suffolk Police led collision investigations are now underway. These are essential for establishing the cause of the incident and gathering evidence.
"This process can take several hours, meaning roads typically remain closed for a significant period after serious incidents."
Diversion routes are in place which are as follows:
Drivers travelling eastbound should follow
- Exit A14 eastbound at J58 Levington
- At junction turn onto A1156 continue to junction with Felixstowe Road
- At junction turn onto Felixstowe Road continue to Link Road
- At junction with Link Road turn onto Link Road continue on High Road
- At roundabout take first exit continue on High Road through Trimley
- Continue along High Road High Street High Road West to signalised junction with A154
- At junction turn onto A154 continue to roundabout with Grove Road
- At roundabout take first exit continue on A154 to J60 Dockspur Roundabout
Drivers travelling westbound show follow
- At J60 Dockspur Roundabout take second exit onto A154 Candlet Road continue to roundabout with Grove Road
- At roundabout take second exit continue on A154 to signalised junction with High Road West
- At junction turn onto High Road West continue along High Road West High Street High Road
- After Trimley take second exit at roundabout continue on High Road
- Continue on High Road to junction with Link Road turn onto Link Road for Levington
- At junction with Felixstowe Road turn onto Felixstowe Road continue to A1156
- At A1156 turn onto A1156 continue to J58 Levington rejoin A14 westbound
