DPD lorry stuck after tight turn on city street as police arrive to ‘straighten things out’

A blundering lorry driver blocked a major Birmingham city centre street after taking a tight turn that it could not make.

The DPD truck became trapped for 15 minutes after turning from Temple Road West onto Colmore Row as shocked passers-by watched on.

West Midlands Police[1] officers later arrived to help "straighten things out".

Posting on social media, an eyewitness said: "Someone took a wrong turn!

"Guess nobody's moving anytime soon.

"Temple Road West turning left to Colmore Row.

The eye-witness told BirminghamLive: "I suddenly saw the DPD lorry on Colmore Row making a turn it couldn't do.

"The road was blocked for about 10-15 minutes.

"Police arrived to 'straighten things out' and arrange for the parked cars on the right to be moved.

"The lorry was then able to make the manoeuvre."
