Police made four arrests after they responded to reports of an attempted theft from a lorry. Reports came in on the evening of Tuesday (30 December) that a lorry was being broken into at a truck stop on the A1 at East Markham. Retford response officers travelled to the A1 at Blyth after hearing a car with cloned plates spotted at the scene of the attempted theft had been sighted.
The car in question was tracked down by the team around 3.50am on Wednesday (31 December) and police activated their blue lights. A knife, torch and a pair of gloves were seen to be thrown from the vehicle.

PC Beth Leivers, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
"As a result of the efforts of the officers involved, we were able to arrest four people suspected of being involved in criminality and stop a vehicle on cloned plates.
"Luckily in this case, no items were stolen, but vehicle break-ins of this nature could present significant costs to hauliers and will always be dealt with robustly."
