M1 delays after cattle truck overturns and car fire

Motorists are facing delays in both directions of the M1 following an overturned cattle truck and a car fire which has now been put out.
National Highways said the M1 northbound between junction 23 at Loughborough and junction 23A at East Midlands Airport was closed after a trailer carrying cattle overturned on Thursday morning.
There are also delays of up to 80 minutes after two lanes were closed on the M1 southbound between junction 21 at Leicester and junction 20 at Lutterworth due to a car fire, although the lanes have since reopened.
Drivers are being advised to use alternative routes and to allow extra travel time on to journeys.
