Pedestrian dies in collision involving two lorries on M5 motorway

A pedestrian has died following a crash involving two lorries on a motorway near the Wales and England border. The tragedy happened on Tuesday morning between junctions 13 and 14 of the M5 south of Gloucester.
According to the Gloucestershire Constabulary, the collision happened at around 11.40am. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The M5 northbound carriageway remains closed after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle this morning (Tuesday, January 13).
"We were called to junction 14 of the motorway at around 11.40am with a report of a collision involving two lorries and a pedestrian who was on the carriageway.
"The drivers of the two lorries have been assessed by paramedics and are not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
"The northbound carriageway remains closed between junctions 13 for Stroud and 14 for Dursley/Falfield to allow a collision investigation to take place. Advertisement Advertisement

"This closure is expected to remain in place throughout the day with motorists asked to avoid the area and plan their route in advance.
"The southbound carriageway has since reopened between the affected junctions however traffic delays may remain for some time.
"Anyone who is stuck in traffic as a result of the closure and requires urgent assistance is advised to contact police or the Ambulance Service by calling 101 and asking for the relevant emergency service."
