Police statement after crash that closed part of the A63 near Hessle
A driver was taken to hospital following the incident

View ImagePolice are appealing for witnesses following the collision on the A63 (file photo)(Image: Humberside Police)A driver was injured in a crash involving a car and an HGV that closed part of the A63[1] this morning, police have said. The westbound carriageway was closed[2] following the incident near Hessle[3] at around 9.20am.
The collision, which involved a green Hyundai i20 and a silver HGV, happened just after the junction with Priory Way close to the Humber Bridge[4].
Both lanes on the westbound side of the dual-carriageway were closed while emergency services responded to the incident.
Police say the driver of the Hyundai was "taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life threatening".
The road was fully reopened by around 11.30am.
A Humberside Police[5] spokesperson added: "If anyone witnessed the collision or has dashcam from around the time the collision is believed to have occurred, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 111 of 5 January."
