Recap: Smash shuts A-road in both directions

A car has reportedly struck a fallen tree - shutting an A-road in both directions. The collision has occurred on the busy Congleton Road in Rodeheath. Traffic monitoring system Inrix is reporting the A536 between Rodeheath and Gawsworth is now shut in both directions.

The crash has occurred between Pexall Road and Shellow Lane. The site, which issued an alert just after 4.15am this morning, states: "Car has hit a fallen tree." It comes as Storm Chandra has brought strong winds and heavy rain to North Staffordshire and South Cheshire through the night.
